Escorted Tour Discovering these Classical Lands of Rare and Exquisite Splendour

24 days
7 to 30 November 2009

In this, our 35th year, we particularly wanted to celebrate this milestone by creating for you a fascinating selection of special tours and experiences to some of the world’s most intriguing destinations. And, there are none more intriguing than the timeless lands of North Africa.

Our tour of North Africa commences in the Libyan capital of Tripoli, and from our base here we will visit the ancient UNESCO World Heritage sites of Leptis Magna, Sabratha, Cyrene and Apollonia. We will take a reflective moment during our stay in Benghazi to visit the Australian War Cemetery before departing Libya. In Tunisia, an unforgettable experience awaits as we explore the classic architectural wonders of Carthage and the famous Bardo Mosaic Museum.

We will travel to Kairouan for a two-day visit in this, the fourth holiest city in Islam. There are so many hidden secrets in the city, but none more revered than its 9th century great mosque. You will find this massive complex awe inspiring.

In fabled Morocco, a country that has always commanded the respect and fascinated the imagination of travellers for generations will show us its Kasbahs, mighty Atlas Mountains and age old Medinas.

We have incorporated within the tour a most comprehensive sequence of sightseeing, comfortable and enjoyable modes of travel, together with a collection of delightful hotels. We hope you will join us on this celebratory tour, especially created for our direct clientele, as we explore the natural and cultural wonders of these archaeological rich North African countries.
